I was for trading Nylander at the first of the year for a Dman. Not now, it would be just plain stupidity. There's not much of equal quality out there to take that risk. Much rather package Johnsson, Ceci, plus, plus for D upgrade. Even if you have to make the plus part fantastic.....

He's on pace for 30+ goals and 70 points and his pace has been accelerating, so it would have to be a good return, one which I don't know is feasibly available.

Andersen could be had out of Columbus for probably a really far Deal. His numbers suck this year. But I honestly believe if he ended up on the Leafs he would go beast mode.

Absolute zero chance any franchise would trade Nylander right now. 23 years old, on pace for 34 goals and 70 points, playing his best hockey away from AM (clearly is not reliant on him), and his season pace in 2nd quarter of the season (mostly Keefe hockey) is just shy of 40 goals and 80 points.

You don't trade a player like that for anything short of a Chabot, Makar, Dahlin or Heiskanan. Stud D only.

I think he's starting to let on more that he's really hurting. You could see it on his face last night.

Earlier in the year the Leafs couldn't rest him because they were in no position to. Now that they're in a better position, it might be good to give him a week or so off. Do it around the All-star break, and he'll get even more time to rest.
